TB and Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) study

The purpose of this study is to understand why people have different susceptibility to infection, how the immune system fights infections, and differences between individual’s immune systems.

We’re looking for people who have been diagnosed with tuberculosis or another Mycobacterium.

Study procedures involve a blood draw and answering a few questions about your medical history.

Blood drawn can be drawn at:
University of Washington Medical Center
UW at South Lake Union
UW Roosevelt Clinic
Harborview Medical Center

Participants will receive $20 as a thank you.

Participant Eligibility

People who have Mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB), Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC), Mycobacterium abscessus, or other Mycobacteria isolated from sputum samples. People with “disease” or “colonization” are also eligible.
