17 Apr Smartphone Test Strips
Are you interested in contributing your time towards research on accessible home-based healthcare screening?
We are researchers at UW in the Ubicomp Lab, and we’ve developed a new type of test strip for biomarker reading that works directly with your smartphone. These biomarkers can indicate risk of diabetes or heart disease. As part of the study, you may be able to test the new device and/or be interviewed about your preferences with regards to how it may interact with your phone. This study has received IRB approval. If you participate, your information will be kept strictly confidential.
If you’re interested in participating, please visit this link and fill out the form to register your interest: https://bit.ly/UWPhoneStudy.
Participant Eligibility
We are looking for a wide variety of people to test our device, of all different ages and genders, who have an iPhone, Android phone, or no smartphone (for the in-person study). People will be eligible who have no experience using finger-prick blood testing devices, as well as those who don’t. However, if you have a history of blood clotting issues, you will not be eligible for this study.
