Male Study of the Nerves Associated with Sexual Function

Male Study of the Nerves Associated with Sexual Function

You are being asked to participate in a study called “Corpus Cavernosum Electromyography (CC-EMG) in Autonomic Neuropathy”, which is a research study of the nerves of the male sexual organs. This study will help to assess penile nerve function in men with autonomic neuropathy (AN) and erectile dysfunction (ED) compared to those men without autonomic neuropathy or erectile dysfunction.

The purpose of this study is to better understand if electromyography (also known as EMG) can be used to diagnose nerve damage, including nerve damage leading to erectile dysfunction (also known as ED). We will compare the data collected from patients with ED, caused by autonomic nervous system dysfunction, with the result from healthy volunteers such as yourself. We hope that the results of this study will help improve the assessment of nerves in the study and management of ED.

This study is being performed at the University of Washington Medical Center – Urology Clinic.

If you choose to participate in this study, you will be compensated after your completed study visit and will receive a free parking voucher to cover parking expenses while at your study visit. Compensation will be $150, given by VISA gift card.
