22 Mar HIV Specimen Repository
The purpose of the University of Washington HIV Specimen Repository (UWHSR) is to collect specimens (primarily blood) from HIV infected persons and make these specimens available to investigators who are conducting research on the biological (primarily immunological and virological) correlates of clinical disease. Patients enrolled in the Madison and Virology Clinic Registry consent to the collection of their clinical data into a comprehensive database called the University of Washington HIV Information Systems (UWHIS). The linkage of the patient specimens to this database allows for the investigation of the biological correlates of clinical disease.
Participant Eligibility
The inclusion criteria for patients participating in repository specimen collection are that patients must be consented to participate in the Madison and Virology Clinic Registry, must be over 18 years of age, and must be HIV positive.
