Experiences of Diabetes in Physical Therapy

Experiences of Diabetes in Physical Therapy

It is estimated that 80% of individuals referred to outpatient physical therapy (PT) services have some form of diabetes, prediabetes or diabetes risk factors. The experiences of individuals with diabetes that receive PT services has not been explored. This qualitative exploratory study will gain a deeper understanding of the experiences of these individuals.

This study involves a 1-time virtual interview with a researcher. The interview is 1-hour or less and involves a series of questions about your background and experience in physical therapy.

Participant Eligibility

Individuals with diabetes (type 1 or type 2) that have been to a minimum of 5 physical therapy sessions in an outpatient setting for a musculoskeletal injury.
