18 Oct The Bolster Project: An app to support caregivers to young adults with psychosis
The goal of the Bolster Project is to develop and test digital tools that supports caregivers of young adults with early psychosis. We are interested in examining whether Bolster, the mobile application we’ve developed, can support caregivers who are trying to support their loved one’s help-seeking and access to care. Participants in the study will be randomized to either receive Bolster or a collection of curated resources from advocacy and research organizations similarly designed to support caregiving.
Participants will be asked to complete questionnaires about their attitudes, levels of stress, and experiences with caregiving once at the start of the testing period, once at the midpoint (6 weeks) and once at the end of the testing period (12 weeks). They will also complete weekly brief questionnaires about their experiences and their loved one’s engagement in treatment. Participants will be randomized (2:1) to either receive the Bolster intervention or the curated caregiving-specific resources. The study is completed remotely. For completing all study activities during the 12-week testing period, participants will receive a $180 in Amazon Gift Cards.
