08 Dec REDCap Tip of the Month: Adding Pictures to Surveys
As you know, REDCap allows the ability to send automated survey invitations to participants. Users can also customize the message of the invitations with any message they want. But did you realize that you can also include pictures in these invitations?
The trick to adding pictures is to insert HTML into your message.
Begin by copying the following text to your message at the spot where you want to place the picture.
<img src="URL" alt="Alternative text">
Replace the red URL with the Internet location of the picture you want to display. The location of the picture has to be accessible from the Internet, so if you link to a picture on your computer’s hard drive it will not work. An example of a picture’s address is:
Finally, replace the red “Alternative text” with a text that you want to appear if the picture is not available for some reason. For instance “Signature” would be a good alternative text for a signature picture.
An example of all of this put together is:
