30 Mar New ITHS COVID-19 Research Resources
Last week ITHS was called upon to assist in managing the intake process for researchers in need of COVID-19 biospecimens or proposing related clinical research. The result was the swift creation of the ITHS COVID-19 Research Portal, which will review and prioritize all applications through the UW/ITHS COVID-19 Research Review Working Group, a committed group of senior leaders and scientific experts across diverse disciplines that was promptly created to review all proposals.
ITHS is proud to help our physicians and scientists at the University of Washington and all across the WWAMI region to accelerate research that will help resolve the COVID-19 pandemic. This is why this week we have continued to work to develop more COVID-19 research resources. In doing so, we have created:
- ITHS COVID-19 Research Resources
- ITHS COVID-19 Clinical Research
- ITHS COVID-19 Research Awards
ITHS COVID-19 Research Resources
The ITHS COVID-19 Research Resources is a new landing page that will host all ITHS resources related to COVID-19.
UW COVID-19 Clinical Research
In an effort to compile and track all the active clinical research related to COVID-19 at UW, we have created a UW COVID-19 Clinical Research webpage. This webpage will host a list of current COVID-19 research projects with information valuable to interested scientists and participants. We will keep updating this list as more trials become available.
ITHS COVID-19 Research Awards
ITHS is committed to supporting investigators focusing on COVID-19 research. For this reason, we are expediting eight $2,500 ITHS COVID-19 Research Awards. These awards are designed to provide funding and/or resources to investigators who have an urgent need and can demonstrate the difference or impact this award will have on their research. This funding can be applied towards the purchase of supplies or towards core, in-kind services provided by ITHS. Applications will open on March 30, 2020 and close on April 13, 2020.
It is our hope that these research resources will help expedite a solution and make a difference during this crucial race to stop the COVID-19 pandemic.
