ITHS Faculty Member Lynn Rose Wins Award for Excellence

ITHS faculty member Lynn Rose, PhD, has been honored with the 2024 Martha Feldman Award by the Organization of Regulatory and Clinical Associates (ORCA). The award, named for the founder of ORCA, honors a Washington individual who has contributed to the field of regulatory affairs and clinical trials, supported colleagues, and advanced the understanding of regulatory affairs and clinical trials among professionals and the public.

Dr. Rose trained as an immunologist then moved into product development and was a leader of preclinical and clinical development and regulatory affairs in some of Seattle’s early biotechnology companies. She also worked at Seattle Children’s and the Benaroya Institute. She co-founded the UW ITHS Drug and Device Advisory Committee to support researchers in need of advice pertaining FDA requirements for the new product concepts the researchers planned to commercialize.

Dr. Rose accepts the award from ORCA President Dave Hammond

She is currently an Associate Affiliate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy where she teaches in the Biomedical Regulatory Affairs Master of Science program. In addition, Dr. Rose is an advisor with the ITHS Technology Development Center and leads sessions on regulatory and therapeutic product development for our Biomedical Innovation Fireside Chat series.

Dr. Rose’s work has helped many research teams navigate the difficult path toward startup companies, and she continues to think about how to improve the overall ecosystem for life science innovation in the Pacific Northwest and take steps to implement her ideas. We are so happy we get to work alongside her on the ITHS team, and we offer her our congratulations on this well-deserved award.
