A Message from Dr. Nora Disis, Principal Investigator
Welcome to the fall edition of ITHS Research Connector, a newsletter that highlights how ITHS works with researchers to promote the translation of scientific discovery to practice. This issue presents exciting research being conducted to improve communication between doctors and patients, boost diagnostic clinical microbiology, address bioethical research issues, and enhance colorectal cancer screening techniques.
You will meet Dr. Bryan S. Lee, who relied heavily on research coordinator support for his study assessing satisfaction levels with electronic access to clinic notes. We will also introduce you to Dr. Brad T. Cookson and the work of the University of Washington’s Department of Laboratory Medicine on clinical next generation sequencing.
We will catch up on the efforts of Dr. Benjamin Wilfond and others to build a research consultation service to address challenging bioethics cases. Finally, our Researcher Spotlight will introduce you to Dr. Andrea Burnett-Hartman and how she is using informatics to assess the role of sessile serrated polyps in colorectal cancer.
Our Research Navigator can work directly with you to answer research questions and link you to the best resources to meet your specific research needs. Please visit our Navigator’s web page to get started.
Thank you for your interest in ITHS. We look forward to hearing from you.
