  • Build your base: Learn how to manage anxiety, develop your stage presence, and adapt to unexpected situations.
  • Know your audience: Learn how to earn the trust of your audience and improve the reception of your message.
  • Tell your story: How to distill information using accessible language and connect to your audiences through storytelling.

About the Speaker

Roxanne Carini is a PhD candidate at the University of Washington studying the dynamics of breaking waves at the coast. She is also on the Board of Directors of the “Engage” program at UW, where she helps sustain and manage a science communication course developing presentation skills for graduate students. When not analyzing wave data or communicating science, she can be found rowing on Seattle’s waterways with the powerful women of Lake Union Crew.
