The Institute of Translational Health Sciences is offering interactive, two-hour group trainings to academic, scientific, business, and medical leaders who want to expand their abilities to present in a convincing and effective manner.
These sessions will take place on April 9, 2015, at UW Medicine South Lake Union in Seattle. Participants at the session will learn and practice, with personalized coaching, how to:
- Grab interest and engage their audience
- Recognize positive non-verbal and verbal behaviors
- Project poise, confidence, and credibility through “rock solid” delivery skills
- Manage PowerPoint and other visual aids
- Deliver data with a Content Management Process that conveys topic mastery
- Address the common fear and nervousness associated with presenting
The instructor for the course will be Dr. Kregg Hood, the Managing Partner of EDC Communications. Dr. Hood specializes in keynote presentations, corporate speaker training, leadership development, and meeting moderation for a client list that includes Fortune 100 companies, health and medical organizations, direct sales teams, executives, managers, and consulting firms. His professional experience also includes work as a CEO, university instructor, and writer.

Sessions
Three two-hour sessions will be offered. Please indicate which session you will attend when completing the registration form.
Cost
The cost of registration for the 2015 ITHS Leadership in Public Speaking is $25 per person. Please note that you will receive $25 Starbucks Gift Card when you complete the workshop.
Refund Policy
No refunds are permitted. Any payment made towards the registration fee for the Public Speaking Workshop is final and will not be refunded. Exception to that policy must be rendered in writing with an explanation and any supporting documentation of the circumstances surrounding the refund request. Such requests and documentation will be reviewed and evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

The fees for online registration made via the Internet must be paid using a credit card (VISA or MasterCard only).
Timeline
Registration opens on February 17, 2015, and closes on March 31, 2015.

All registration information will be used for registration purposes only and will not be shared. Credit card payments will be made on a secure site and processed by Virtual Merchant (UW).
