Dr. Charles Frevert is an Associate Professor in the Department of Comparative Medicine at the University of Washington. He received his DVM degree from Iowa State University and a Doctor of Science Degree (ScD) from Harvard University.

Dr. Frevert is trained in comparative pathology with expertise in lung pathology. He has extensive experience with the use of immunohistochemistry, imaging and image analysis. His research investigates the cellular and molecular mechanisms that regulate pulmonary inflammation and injury in response to lung infection.

He is the co-director of the Comparative Pathology Program and Director of the Histology and Imaging Core at the University of Washington at South Lake Union.

Dr. Frevert is also the co-director of the MBL Special Topics Course, Immunohistochemistry & Microscopy (IHCM) that is held each Spring at the Marine Biological Laboratories in Woods Hole, MA.
