Corey D. Snelson, PhD, MPH, is the ITHS Director of Evaluation. Corey spent over 15 years in biomedical laboratories working to understand central and peripheral nervous system development used to address specific pain mechanisms and elucidate compounds that may impact specific types of pain sensing neurons before pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health at University of Washington. Her focus was on Public Health Genetics at UW she worked with the Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Diagnosis and Prevention Clinic and King County government before joining community organizations that focus on building collective power for social change. Before joining ITHS, she worked as a Program Evaluator for many years in different settings, including community-based non-profit organizations and State and County government. She especially enjoys teaching evaluation and data analysis to people with no previous formal training.
In her spare time, she likes to explore new parks for walking, hiking, and backpacking, enjoys many different crafts, teaching knitting classes, and building furniture in her garage.
