Translational Workforce Development

ITHS Translational Workforce Development offers classes, workshops and other educational resources to investigators and other research professionals to help them advance their careers as well as their scientific discoveries.

What We Do

At the Institute of Translational Health Sciences (ITHS), Translational Workforce Development is focused on cultivating the next generation of leaders in biomedical research. Through comprehensive education, mentorship, and career development programs, ITHS equips researchers, clinicians, and other professionals with the skills needed to navigate the complex process of translating scientific discoveries into practical health solutions. Offering specialized training in areas such as grant writing, team science, regulatory affairs, and clinical trial design, ITHS ensures that its workforce is prepared to tackle the challenges of translational research and drive innovation that improves patient care and public health.

Translational Workforce Development Offerings

In addition to the offerings below, Translational Workforce Development works with other groups across ITHS to provide professional development training for all members of professional research teams.

Professional Development for Research Coordinators

ITHS hosts learning opportunities throughout the year, encouraging research professionals of all levels of experience to network and engage with peers, exchange ideas, and hone professional skills.

Career Development Series

The ITHS Career Development Series consists of lectures and workshops designed to provide junior faculty and investigators with tools, a forum for discussion, and learning opportunities to help advance their careers.

Clinical Translational Research Pathway

The CTR Pathway is a series of courses designed for health sciences students who wish to learn about and explore the process of creating new knowledge in the form of clinical and/or translational research.
