Education & Training Programs prepare you for a career in translational research
Our structured training programs give graduate and post-doc researchers the skills, knowledge and mentorship they need in the early stages of a research career. Continuing education programs help investigators and research staff keep their skills up-to-date.
Pilot Funding Program helps kickstart your project
The ITHS funding programs offer pilot awards to help researchers generate initial data or results demonstrating the feasibility and merits of a larger project.
Consult with our Biomedical Informatics, Biostatistics and Bioethics teams to ensure your research will be effective and meaningful
Biomedical Informatics assists with extracting useful data from electronic medical record data sources, as well as research data capture and exploration of de-identified cohorts. Biostatistics offers expert advice on topics such as study design, data collection, and analysis methods. The Bioethics Consult Service provides in-depth conversation and analysis of ethical issues in clinical and translational research.
The Research Coordination Center helps manage your studies from protocol design to closeout
The Research Coordination Center (RCC) is a multidisciplinary team of research coordinators, regulatory specialists, and study monitors who can support the design and conduct of clinical and translational research. Whether you need support with your IRB application, recruitment and study implementation, or compliance, the RCC has you covered.
Recruitment Support Service and Participate in Research help you find study subjects
If you are looking to recruit for your studies, ITHS has your back. The Recruitment Support Service provides strategic, project-specific recruitment advice to help you meet enrollment goals. Posting your study on our Participate in Research (PiR) website is another tool to connect with potential participants.
Go to ITHS Research Units for all of your in- and outpatient clinical needs
ITHS offers access to a number of research units to support the work of investigators. The Translational Research Unit (TRU) at the UW Medical Center has dedicated inpatient and outpatient facilities, specially trained nurses and support staff, laboratory services, and state-of-the-art equipment. The Pediatric Clinical Research Center (PCRC) at Seattle Children’s provides an environment and resources for the multidisciplinary conduct of clinical research in children.
Community Engagement and Integrating Special Populations help you partner with communities to do research that people want and need
The ITHS Community Engagement team supports a number of research networks, tools and programs that will help you connect and collaborate with communities throughout Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho and beyond! The Integrating Special Populations (ISP) program develops services and training for investigators and community organizations to enable more racial/ethnic and economic diversity of youth and older adults in research.
The Technology Development Center can help you plan your move from research to commercialization
The ITHS Technology Development Center (TDC) is staffed with experts to assist academic and industry innovators through translation, startup formation, clinical study, regulatory clearance, fundraising, and market entry.
