Kari Stephens

Kari Stephens

Kari Stephens, PhD, is the Director of Data QUEST and a practicing clinical psychologist and biomedical informaticist with the UW Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Biomedical Informatics and Medical Education departments. Her research centers on dissemination of evidenced based treatments and pioneering methods in the big data electronic health data space, with special interests in gaps in mental health care and electronic health data sharing methods and tool development.

Hossein Estiri

Hossein Estiri, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Fellow with the University of Washington Institute of Translational Health Sciences. His interest is in the intersection of data and behavioral sciences, and spatial policy. He leads the technical development and design of the FindIT tool for Data QUEST.

Laura-Mae Baldwin

Engagement Focus: WWAMI region Practice and Research Network (WPRN)

Laura-Mae Baldwin, MD, MPH, is a practicing family physician, a Professor in the UW Department of Family Medicine, and the Director of the Institute of Translational Health Sciences’ Regional Research Collaborations Program and the WWAMI region Practice and Research Network (WPRN). Several WPRN practices are members of Data QUEST. Dr. Baldwin’s research interests and expertise are in rural health, quality of care, and cancer prevention.

Dedra Buchwald

Dedra Buchwald

Engagement Focus: Native American Clinical Research Network

Dedra S. Buchwald, MD, is a Professor of Medicine in the UW School of Medicine and Director of the Center for Clinical and Epidemiological Research. Dr. Buchwald has developed a program of culturally appropriate research that spans a wide range of topics, including physical and mental health, career development and training, and health care services and use in American Indian and Alaska Native communities.

Allison Cole

Engagement Focus: WWAMI region Practice and Research Network (WPRN)

Allison M. Cole, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor in the UW’s Department of Family Medicine. Dr. Cole is the Associate Director of the WWAMI region Practice and Research Network (WPRN), and a faculty member in the Institute of Translational Health Sciences. Dr. Cole’s research interests include cancer prevention and screening, and health disparities.

Abigail Echo-Hawk

Abigail Echo-Hawk

Engagement Focus: Native American Clinical Research Network

Abigail Echo-Hawk, MPS is an enrolled member of the Kitkehahki band of the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma. Ms. Echo-Hawk is the Associate Director of Partnerships for Native Health and the Tribal Liaison in the Institute for Translational Health Sciences, both located at the University of Washington. In these roles, she works with American Indian and Alaska Native tribes in a fifteen-state region to identify health research priorities and with health researchers to ensure research is done in a manner that respects tribal sovereignty and is culturally appropriate.

Gina Keppel

Engagement Focus: WWAMI region Practice and Research Network (WPRN)

Gina Keppel, MPH, is a Research Scientist with the UW Department of Family Medicine and the Institute of Translational Health Sciences. She supports the WPRN research infrastructure and works closely with academic investigators and WPRN clinical partners to engage them in research, including facilitating Data QUEST projects with WPRN member practices.
